Un psychologue français a travaillé à décrypter le comportement d'Anakin Skywalker et sa sombre progression vers le côté obscur de la Force... Selon les auteurs d'un article -actuellement sous press dans Psychiatry Research, (Eric Bui et al. du laboratoire du Stress Traumatique, Toulouse) le héros de Star Wars serait porteur d'une série de comportements instables et impulsifs (cf. 2ème et 3ème films) qui en feraient un candidat idéal pour souffrir de troubles de la personnalité limite (TPL).

Anakin serait en effet atteint de 6 des 9 symptômes qui caractérisent la TPL établie par le DSM IV.

the absence of Anakin's father and his early separation from hismother (Bandelow et al., 2005) and the use of defense mechanisms such as splitting, projection, and infantile illusions of omnipotence (Gabbard, 1994). Further elements are to be found in the young Anakin's difficulties in emotional and impulse regulation, and dysfunctional experiences of self and others. One occurred after his mother's death, when he exterminated a whole tribe of Tuskanpeople,while the other one took place just after he turned to the dark side. He slaughtered all the Jedi younglings before voicing paranoid thoughts concerning his former mentor and his wife.
